Classes


In this awesome class you will learn all the beginnings of quilt making: fabric selection, rotary cutting, 1/4" seam allowances, piecing and half-square triangles. Anita will be there to help every step of the way! This is a three-part class.

Learn how to make simple embroidery stitches out-of-this-world elegant with Ann Degener. This year the class will be making "Bird Dance" by Sue Spargo 8-month class. If you are going to make Bird Dance, we need to get you a book, so let us know. You can always bring your own projects to work on.

This is an 8-month club where Vicki will teach you basic embroidery stitches each month as you work on a new project! This will be a fun class, even if you already know some basic stitches! There will always be a theme for each month, including a yummy treat! The project for October is "Harvest the Beauty" from Crabapple Hill. We'll have kits available and Vicki will teach the coloring process. There will be a monthly kit available for the project.

This awesome garden quilt is made using a beautiful new collection reminiscent of the marvelous colors of a fading summer.

This fun quilt reminds us of all the things our mama's always told us... "wear clean underwear in case...", "no use crying over spilt milk", "what am I? a taxi service". These sayings are just a few on this stunning quilt. Local designer, Vickie Higley, is the author of this fabulous quilt and we have it hanging in our shop. Ann Degener will teach three classes on how to construct the quilt and give her tips and techniques for wool applique. She will also teach the decorative stitches Vickie used, plus some she'll add.

This modern star quilt is gorgeous made with Then Came June Fabric. Come to class and get the tips and tricks to make the blocks!

Kristen is returning with another year of her original pillow creations, this time for bolster pillows! Her designs are awesome and have been very popular in the last two clubs. You can always adapt her patterns for use in other projects. Come join the fun and creativity!

Vicki will teach needle turn applique... if you've tried it and know it's not your 'thing', you can use any applique method you prefer. 8-month class

This will be a technique class using Ten Sisters Easy-piecing Grid. The Easy Piecing Grid Panels by Carmen Geddes of Ten Sisters Handicraft make perfect square projects - all squares are perfectly matched every time - no pinning! So easy! You'll choose which size square you want to work with, which is determined by the size of quilt you want to end up with.

Another Simple Whatnots club is starting with Kim Diehl's lastest fabric line: Gratitude & Grace. At each monthly meeting we'll feature one of 8 small quilts, share Show & Tell (which can be anything) and have yummy refreshments. Join us for our old-fashioned Sewing Club.

We're having another retreat at the beautiful lodge near Ashton, Idaho. The quilt we've chosen to make is "Oh My Stars", by Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings. We'll have other small projects to give you a break from working on just this one quilt.

We all have those UFOs on our sewing tables, or folded up in a stack beside the sewing table, or tucked away in a bag in the linen closet, or stored in a tub in the basement. Projects that came to a grinding halt for one reason or another. Now's your chance to finish a few of them!
